Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) is a premier program for future European startup unicorns to engage with main US industry players for sales, funding and collaboration opportunities in order to rapidly scale up on the other side of the Atlantic.
Our chair of Transatlantic ICT Forum, Camille Sailler, was invited to speak in the panel about Entrepreneur Women in Digital during the kicking off European Innovation Day September 12, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. 15 European scale-ups have been selected to represent Europe in this program.
SEC2SV provides a nature environment for nascent businesses to develop a healthier relationship with government and policy makers. In the era of digital revolution where app economy and mobile revolution prevail, it is becoming ever more pivotal for entrepreneurs to be fluent in the language of policy makers. Because the bottleneck to innovation adoption is also traditional industries and existing rules. The importance of this dialogue has been endorsed by Marco Marinucci, CEO of mind the bridge, in his article ¨Why SEC2SV is taking over TC Disrupt¨.
DISCOVERY and our Transatlantic ICT Forum are contributing to the purpose of this program through its ICT policy and regulations working group, explaining how it supports ICT policy as well as transatlantic success with access to EU funding as well as Silicon Valley VC and angles. The panel that we attended on Entrepreneur Women in Digital revealed high substance and energy. The panel concluded that ¨Access to capital is the number one challenge for female entrepreneurs¨. The statement got public endorsement through more than 2000 active tweets. A video of our panel session is expected to be generated in the days to come.
