What is FIWARE?

FIWARE is an open source IT platform, and a community, at the same time. Its mission is to expand the innovation ecosystem around the use of public, royalty-free technologies for the development of smart applications in multiple vertical domains, easing the connection of IoT devices with other sources of information, together with big data analysis on the cloud.

Info-session

The info session aims to explore the possibility of creating a lab that will be powered by FIWARE. The lab maybe run by an incubator, accelerator, government, university or industry.

• For innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs and larger companies:

o   Learn how to benefit from FIWARE when developing innovative solutions and applications in the areas of smart cities, smart agriculture, as well as eHealth, media and content, etc.

• For city and province representatives, accelerators, incubators:

o   See how FIWARE could help strengthen the innovation ecosystem and attract new entrepreneurs and start-ups

• For universities and research centers:

o   Understand how FIWARE could help develop technological innovation and entrepreneurial skills among the students

• Overall Picture:

o   Cooperation between Canadian and European solution providers and/or Canadian and European cities or other types of organizations will also be discussed, looking at Canadian solutions being adopted in Europe and European solutions being adopted in Canada. Cooperation among cities or among other types of organizations (industry, universities), with the objective of sharing standard-based replicable solutions will be considered.
